Not Vital ‘Everton’ exhibtition views at Sperone Westwater Gallery. Vital created a series of stainless steel sculptures as well as related drawings. These ‘Heads’ are all of a monochromatic palette, ranging from 4.5 to 6.2 feet in height, are pared down to simple contours.

![Caleb Charland 'Artifact 1601', 2014, Charland transforms blank, unexposed sheets of silver gelatin paper into handworked, tactile abstractions. Using a red candle, Charland drips wax onto sheets of paper. As the flame burns and exposes the paper, drops of wax fall onto the emulsion. Like the red light in a darkroom, the red wax becomes a small filter, preventing further exposure by the flame.
