thinking creatively about living with art…

P1010050 Nancy Rubins, Drawings, 2002

Beautiful, minimal stairwell…the predictable approach would have been to hang a painting on the back wall.  The light well presented a special challenge as most works of art would fade.  Nancy Rubin’s Drawings is made of graphite on torn paper.  The artist re-configured this existing piece specifically for the client’s space.

This glass ‘mobile’ by internationally known artist Pae White turns this tall, narrow, yet light-filled stairwell to life.  Taking advantage of the height and the light, the piece turns the whole space into a work of art.

Large, lofty space…this kinetic installation made of hand-cut aluminum butterflies draws your eye across the room.

P1010099Rebecca Szeto (untitled), 2006

Art over the fireplace tends to be predictably a painting in a frame.  We are always concerned about the condition of works over fireplaces…over time, smoke can damage art.  Here the client commissioned artist Rebecca Szeto to create an installation made of steel wool.
