Scheduled to be completed at the end of 2018, The Broadway is a high-rise residential tower in Oakland. For the public art requirement, Oakland based artist David Huffman is creating a 45 foot tall glass piece that will define the front entrance of the building. The glass piece entitled Ascension is based on Huffman’s painting practice, and will be accompanied by a site-specific painting to be hung in the lobby.

Artsource Consulting worked with Mill Creek Residential Trust on a public art piece that was integrated into the architecture of the building. Bay Area artist Leo Bersamina started with creating drawings while hiking in the hills of the East Bay. He then translated those drawings into a large-scale glass piece by combining images of oak and walnut trees, infusing the building with the natural surroundings of the area.
